Orlando Brown

Biography

As Eddie Thomas on the Disney hit show “That’s So Raven”, Orlando Brown turned heads, stole hearts and amused viewers with his boy-next-door role.

The Disney series ran from 2003 to 2007. Orlando was one of the original cast members of the highly successful show and audiences were able to literally watch Orlando grow-up on television. That’s So Raven continues to be seen in syndication by millions around the globe, while Orlando remains a fan favorite among viewers of the show. The 2003 recipient of the Young Artist Award for Outstanding Performance in a TV series, Orlando’s charm and comedic acting experience expands beyond Raven. Getting his initial break by appearing in a Burger King commercial at the tender age of 5, Orlando has had recurring roles in a string of successful TV series such as Moesha, Safe Harbor, Malcolm & Eddie, The Jamie Foxx Show, Family Matters, and Waynehead. He also appeared as the witty Cadet Kevin “Tiger” Dunn in the motion movie release, Major Payne, starring Damon Wayans. Orlando has also done voiceover work for animated TV shows Fillmore and The Proud Family.

“Being a child actor has been a really great experience for me,” says Orlando, a Los Angeles native. “I was able to go to a lot of places and do different things that a lot of kids growing up in the hood just didn’t get the opportunity to do; whether it was traveling to New Zealand, or different states around the U.S. or just eating lobster. The Lord allowed me to fulfill a lot of my blessings very early in life.”

In the spring of 2011, American Humane Association President and CEO Robin Ganzert, Ph.D one of the leading associations in the world, announced that Orlando Brown became one of its national ambassador spokespersons. He is trying to help end abuse and neglect of animals around the country. An aggressive campaign to encourage people to take care of their animals, this was a significant move for Orlando.

Being multi-talented, Orlando has made the transition to recording artist, a natural progression for the young singer-songwriter who has been working on his highly anticipated debut CD. You can now hear his single, “Hero”, on Radio Disney.

The grown-up version of Orlando Brown is a raw, toned and chiseled Renaissance man who has committed to a strict workout that has revamped his image for the launching of his new venture. Some fans may even notice a few tattoos. Also, along with recording an album, Orlando has been busy writing and developing screenplays under his Young Star Entertainment company. He is currently filming the Orlando Brown reality TV show.

Further expanding his reach, Orlando just finished two new movies. “Christmas in Compton” is due out for the Christmas season 2011, while “We the Party”, directed by Mario Van Peoples, is due out in the spring of 2012. That’s So Raven may have stopped taping new episodes, but Orlando’s fans have remained loyal, and have been waiting a long time to get something new from him.

“The fans have taken this trip with me for a long time and are waiting to see what I have in store for them,” he states. “This is a going to be a major turning point for me and my fans. I’ve been working on this music for a while; I’m excited about the musicians the songs and the artists working with me and my new direction. I wake up every morning and think: I’m just excited about life.”
