Biography : Director of A&R/Concert Promotion/Booking

Shawn Smith started working in street team promotions while interning with Interscope Records/Bob Squad Entertainment Group from 2007 to 2008.  He has also worked as the Director of Promotions with several entertainment companies such as Molina Entertainment and Ayah Entertainment.  As Director of Promotions, Shawn was in charge of booking artists and coordinating events.

Currently, Shawn and his partner, Kemostry, run Juzz Roc the Mic music events.  Juzz Roc the Mic started in December of 2010, and produced over 40 shows in 2011.  Through Juzz Roc the Mic, Shawn and Kemostry put on at least three or four shows every month during the year.  Also, on every second Wednesday, the Juzz Roc the Mic Afterwork Music Event is held at the Sapphire Lounge in the Lower East Side of NC.  Every third Saturday, starting February 2012, Juzz Roc the Mic will be holding Artist Showcases.

Through Juzz Roc the Mic, Shawn is also working on release parties for unsigned artists’ mixtapes, and the company is sponsored by Indie Flava Magazine.  Shawn is excited for the opportunity to join Spotlight Entertainment, Inc., with great things ahead.
