Lena Leon
Once described as a “popcorn” singer, LENA LEON has a love for music that is uncanny. It was by avoiding learning how to read sheet music during her piano lessons, that Lena learned that she had a unique ear for music. Her song “Secret”, co-written by artist Amber Skye, placed in the top 12 of the prestigious SongCircle/EMI songwriting competition, beating out over 6,000 songs for the coveted spot. Getting multiple honorable mentions from the 17th annual Billboard World Songwriting Contest for her songs: “Locked in Love” and “Save My Life”, Lena is also backed with industry approval of her songwriting abilities. With over 10 years of piano, songwriting and musical theater experience, she is no stranger to the evolving nature of popular music. Don’t let her age fool you! At the age of 24, Lena already has a few commercial singing and songwriting credits under her belt, such as Microsoft Windows Phone, Magnum Devotion, and Kayak.com “Nuns”.
Getting her audio engineering experience as a Live Mix Engineer at WERS 88.9 FM and a bachelors degree in Audio Engineering from Emerson College, Miss Leon possesses the skills ehs needs to make all of her demos sound polished and presentable. In addition to creating fresh piano licks and insanely catchy melodies, Lena is a talented singer and vocal producer who will always find another harmony or hook melody to put to her intimate lyrics. She is currently working with New York-based artists Amber Skye, Malynda Hale, Anna Harrington and Gabrielle Taryn, as well as co-writing with American Idol Semi-Finalists Lisa Wilson Ritter and Devyn Rush (The Singing Waitress), and professional songwriter, Shawn Lopes.
